ELECTROLYZER PERFORMANCE
Avium catalyst technology uses non-precious metals to meet or exceed the performance of precious metal catalysts. Our state-of-the-art amorphous iron-nickel oxyhydroxide catalyst can be made cost-effectively using green chemistry techniques. By leveraging the compatibility of our aqueous catalyst suspensions with alkaline electrolyte, we have developed a new method to deposit our catalysts in situ, while the electrolyzer is operating. Our patent pending “Catalyte™” technology opens up the potential to significantly reduce stack size, improve average efficiency over the electrolyzer lifetime, and possibly eliminate the need for periodic stack replacement.
These factors combine to give us the potential to reduce initial capital costs by up to 25% and lower the total levelized cost of hydrogen production by 27% or more.
