What volumes of Catalyte™ are available?

Catalyte™ is created and mixed to meet your system’s needs. We can produce Catalyte™ in whatever volume is desired.

What is the environmental footprint?

Avium follows the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. Our catalyst synthesis uses aqueous solvents in a low-energy process that produces no toxic intermediates or byproducts.

Does it contain precious metals?

No. Catalyte™ contains only earth abundant metals such as iron and nickel. No platinum or iridium are required.

Does the Catalyte™ plug the pores in the Zirfon separator?

Our particles are designed such that they do not fit through Zirfon pores. To date, we have not observed any clogging issues with Zirfon separators.

Is it hazardous?

Catalyte™ is made from earth abundant metals and presents no significant use or shipping hazards. Our aqueous catalyst suspensions are noncorrosive, nonvolatile, and nonflammable.

Is it energy intensive?

Typical catalyst production requires high energy input and high temperatures. Avium’s patented novel microwave synthesis is low temperature, low energy, and generates very little waste.

Will it accelerate pump wear?

The catalyst particles in Catalyte™ are measured in nanometers, or one-billionths of a meter. While it may depend on the method of using Catalyte™, particles of this size are not expected to cause additional pump wear at the relatively low concentrations used.

How much slurry do I need?

How much Catalyte™ you need is based on the volume of the electrolyte and the surface area of the electrodes. Please contact us for further details.
